About Me

Hi, my name is Adam. I decided to start PR Poles because I believe every vaulter should have the opportunity to grow and progress, which in many cases means having access to the right pole.

Let’s face it, poles are expensive and not every school can afford to have poles for every possible athlete.

I went to a small school in Colorado and when I decided to try the pole vault, the school bought me a brand new pole. Which was great…until I progressed to the point I needed the next pole in the progression. But we didn’t have any more. I ended up borrowing poles and trying new ones at meets which made it hard to be consistent. My coach and a coach from another school supported me and my senior year I took 1st place at the state meet. But I always wondered…was that as high as I could go? What if I had the right poles?

I am now a high school coach and I have seen it at every meet – a vaulter doesn’t have the next pole. If I can help it, I never want to see another young vaulter fail to reach a new PR because they don’t have access to the right equipment!
